We are scheduled to see 20 films this week at The 2014 Sundance Film Festival. Hope we’re up for it
The SLC airport closed. There was some plane crash or something, but we just landed. Must be OK? Now to shuttle up to Park City.

There are tons of films at Sundance this year about music. The 17 films are:
“Lambert & Stamp” – a documentary about the early managers of The Who
“Finding Fela” a documentary about the Nigerian afrobeat legend
“God Help The Girl” by Stuart Murdoch of the band Belle and Sebastian
“20000 Days on Earth” a documentary about Nick Cave
“Low Down” a story about the daughter of a jazz musician
“Rudderless” about the father who finds the demo tapes of his recently deceased son and starts a band to play his songs
“Whiplash” about a jazz drummer with the always excellent J.K. Simmons
“Song One” starring Anne Hathaway researching her musician brother in Brooklyn
“Alive Inside” a documentary about music therapy for Alzheimer’s patients
“Living Stars” about people who dance to music in front of their mirrors in Argentina.
“Frank” about a musician (played by Michael Fassbender) who wears a large fake head
“Girl from Nagasaki” a reworking of the opera Madame Butterfly
“My Prairie Home” about transgender musician Rae Spoon.
“Hits” about a teenager obsessed with “The Voice”
“Under the Electric Sky” a documentary about the Electric Daisy Carnival”
“Memphis” about a talented singer in the famed city
“Only Lovers Left Alive” the Jim Jarmusch film about an underground musician.
